R.M. v. HOA
An HOA claimed a married couple was in violation of the governing documents because they installed solar panels on the front of their home. The couple did so because the panels would not work properly on the rear of the home, and their contractor told them they had to place them on the front of the home. M.T. v. HOA
An Anne Arundel County HOA approved a proposal for our client to build a deck on her home. After granting approval, the HOA told the client that the deck would need to be some natural color. When the client’s contractor build a composite deck using pine-colored materials, HOA claimed the client was in violation & demanded that she replace the deck. On behalf of his client, Mr. Skipper responded noting that pine was a “natural color” and that the HOA could pay for the replacement of the deck. HOA backed off.
