Knipp v. Defendant driver
Obtained a reversal of the trial court on appeal, with the appellate court finding the trial court erred by failing to award compensation for all medical expenses and failing to consider permanent injuries in a personal injury case. Upon remand, the trial court more than quadrupled the monetary award, following the mandate of the appeals court.

G.M. v. P.M.
A husband was struck by his estranged wife with the couple’s pickup truck when the wife, who was backing out of the drive, suddenly drove forward, crushing Ms. Skipper’s client’s leg between the truck and a parked vehicle. The insurance carrier did not extend coverage until the client was represented by Mr. Skipper, who advocated that the wife’s “Alford plea” in the criminal case was not an admission of guilt and could not be used in the civil claim for personal injuries.

Policy limits tender for client with limited medical expenses, but suffered permanent injuries in her hands and wrists as a result of the accident.

R.M. v. HOA
An HOA claimed a married couple was in violation of the governing documents because they installed solar panels on the front of their home. The couple did so because the panels would not work properly on the rear of the home, and their contractor told them they had to place them on the front of the home. Mr. Skipper responded to the violation notice, citing Maryland law that allows a homeowner to install solar panels without HOA approval in cases where other alternate plans will not work.
